I hope you had a great week! I have put together a variety of things for you to do this weekend, whether you’re looking for something to do with the whole family, get out and make new friends, or have a fun night out with your significant other, Enid has something for you.

LOCAL BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT:

The Flamingo Lounge has been a local favorite since it’s conception in 1958 and arguably has the best burger in town. The fact that it is been able to stay in business so long is a testament to how well loved it is by Enid.

I, like many of you, grew up going to the Flamingo pretty regularly and have many memories eating hamburgers, nachos, and chili while playing pool and Galaga with friends and family. And you can’t forget the chips that used to be the only side!

Be sure to come out tonight, they are going all out with live music, karaoke, and EXTRA PARKING! Read more down below for more info!

🎸 Backstage Pass and Karaoke Party
Friday, May 9 | 7PM
Flamingo Lounge | Free
Tonight is gonna be a blast and you won’t want to miss out, so come out and enjoy a burger, drink, and music! Backstage Pass will be playing from 7 - 10 with karaoke to follow! And if you’re worried about parking, they got it covered. You can park at RNR Tire, or Paramount Homes(the gravel parking to the south of RNR).

🌮 La Salsa Grand Opening
Friday May 9
La Salsa Mexican Grill
The renovations in La Salsa are complete and they are ready to serve Enid some great Mexican food with awesome service! Head out to the grand opening today from 8AM - 9PM. Billy Beck will be performing starting at 5PM.

🛍️ May Second Saturday

Sunset Plaza | Free
This year’s Second Saturdays at Sunset Plaza is kicks off this weekend, where there will be specials all across the plaza! I’m not sure if there will be vendors this month, but go out and check out the specials that stores in the plaza have!

🏍️ Slop & Ride
Saturday, May 10 | 11AM - 1PM
Meadow Lake Park | Food by Donations
Go enjoy a sloppy joe, chips, and a drink. I believe the cost for the meal is by donation. Donations will be used to support the Christian Motorcyclists Association “Run For the Son”. There will be a Motorcycle Run after the meal, at 1:30PM to the Great Salt Plains Lake, all wheel types are welcome to join!

💐 Mother’s Day Flower Bar
Saturday, May 10 | 10AM - 2PM
Red Bird Farm | At least one ticket per group required to attend event($40 per ticket)
The barn will be filled with thousands of flowers to choose from to create a custom bouquet for you or for a gift for your Mom or Wife! One ticket gets you a flower jar, flower food, selection of flowers, and light refreshments while you create! You only need a ticket if you want a bouquet, but at least one person in your group needs a ticket to attend. Play Land will be open for the kiddos as well($5 per child ages 2-18)! Purchase your tickets in advance Here!

🚘️ Enid Cars and Coffee
Saturday May 10 | 9AM - 12PM
7 Brew Coffee
Want to be entertained and enjoy the weather? Who doesn’t enjoy a baseball game or two? The GCA is an NCAA Division II conference, and will hold it’s annual postseason baseball tournament this weekend! There will be schools from Oklahoma and Arkansas including Northwestern Oklahoma State University. You can view the schedule Here!

🏎️ Auto Racing - Kwik and Klean Twister Nationals
Saturday May 10 | 7:30PM
Enid Speedway | $20 for adults. Military, seniors, and students are $5. 11 and under are free.
Come watch the races at Enid Speedway! - Sooner Late Models, Factory Stocks, Hot Shots, Sports Mods/B Mods - (To be completely honest, I have no idea what any of that means, but that is the information I have!)

Turpin tunes has recently started back up again, where musicians gather every third Thursday of the month and jam at Turpin theatre in the Gaslight Theatre! May’s lineup has yet to be announced, but we will update you when we know. There will be a cash bar available.

Enid Palooza is a day full of music, food, shopping, and fun! The Enid SPCA will be having an adoption event, A2Z Therapeutic Petting Zoo will be there, there will be food trucks, and live music performed by Chloe Beth, the Peachtrees, All Town, and Knight Ryder.

NEW BUSINESS ALERT!

Cocina de Miriam

The Grand Opening of Cocina de Miriam will be on Monday, May 12th at 7AM!

Their menu will showcase an eclectic mix of American, Continental, and Central American breads, pastries, and desserts. They say that fresh bread will be a staple in their sandwiches, as well as included in their breakfast options. They will also be offering handcrafted coffee to pair with the baked goods!

They are located at 920 W Oklahoma Ave, right off of Van Buren, Just south of the old Long John Silvers.

It looks like their hours of operation will be from 7AM-2PM Monday - Friday and 7AM-11AM on Saturdays.
