DID YOU KNOW?
Clyde Cessna, founder of Cessna Aircraft Corporation, lived in Enid for some time. So much so that he was called the “Birdman of Enid”. Clyde built and flew his first successful airplane in 1911. He was the first person to build and fly an airplane in the “Heartland of the US” which apparently is between the Mississippi and the Rocky Mountains.
Clyde and his company went on to do some amazing things for the Airplane industry and is best known for it’s small, high-wing, piston aircraft. If you see any smaller planes flying over Enid, specifically near Woodring Airport, It’s a good chance you’re looking at a Cessna.
START YOUR DAY WITH COFFEE!
There may be many places to get your morning coffee, but only a couple are locally owned.
My favorite is Da Vinci’s Coffeehouse and Gelateria. They have two very convenient locations; one on Van Buren and one on Owen K Garriott. Both have drive a drive through! If you aren’t in the mood for coffee, they have gelato and some healthy food options as well.
